Open Farm Day 2011

There are two suppers in conjunction with Open Farm Day this year, one in Arborg and one in Steinbach.


Visit the Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV) for a fall supper that will set the standard for all fall suppers in south eastern Manitoba.You won’t just be celebrating local foods – you’ll celebrate regional cuisine prepared by a team of Canadian Culinary federation chefs and their apprentices from variety of established eateries, schools and colleges.This supper will take place on Sunday, September 18 with 2 sittings at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., at the MHV Livery Barn Restaurant, 231 – Highway 12N, (just north of Steinbach).Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for persons 12 and under, 4 and under free. Tickets must be purchased in advance, deadline Friday, September 9. Arrange your tickets by calling MHV at 204-326-9661.


Savour the flavours of the Interlake as you dine on this magically created four course meal featuring some of the best foods from the Interlake. This gourmet meal is being prepared by Karen Nielson, Red Seal Certified Chef and owner of the Fat Cat Bistro in Arnes MB.Enjoy dining in a restored country hall showcasing the history and culture of the Interlake with our hosts from the Arborg Multicultural Heritage Village (AMHV). Experience a cultural twist and end your meal with pure pleasure with a “Roving Dessert Party”! Tour the village with costumed heritage interpreters sampling sweet ethnic treats along the way. This supper will take place on Sunday, September 18 with 3 sittings at 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., at the AMHV in Arborg on Highway #68, just east of Highway #7 junction. Tickets are $35 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling AMHV at 204-376-5079.

The 2012 edition of Open Farm Day is Sunday, September 18. All of the hosts and organizers are looking forward to seeing you again.
