QR Codes

If you’ve been wondering what those crossword looking boxes are that keep showing up, we’ve got your answer.

This is a QR Code, short for Quick Response. This code directs you back to the Manitoba Agritourism homepage. The QR code can be scanned by a smart phone and direct people to a website, picture, email, or even to buy a product.

Creating QR codes is free, and there are many websites that will instantly develop one for you. The one above was made on the QR-Code generator from http://qrcode.kaywa.com/

So this is great and everything but how could I use this in my business you ask? Well a vegetable vendor could attach a QR code to produce that directs people to a good recipe. Tourism operators are using codes rather than creating interpretive signs. Non-profit groups have used codes in their fundraising efforts.
